Blockbuster Online very slow to ship movies

Blockbuster Online review very slow to ship movies

Recently Blockbuster has been extremely slow in shipping movies that are in the que. I have been waiting three days to see a movie move to the “At Home” section of my que, and I have several movies that are in my que that are “available”. I don’t know what is going on over there, but they need to get their act together. The only reason why I chose Blockbuster over Netflix, is the in store exchange feature, but with shipping this slow , I am not sure there is a great advantage over Netflix anymore. If anyone at Blockbuster is listening, get your act together!

Another thing they just changed is that they now count the movies you get using the in store exchange feature against the total number of movies that you have out at any one time. Another negative move on their part. Who is making these idiotic decisions?

Blockbuster is making these changes in tough times when people are looking to cut expenses. The managers at Blockbuster need to get in touch with reality. My review of Blockbuster has now changed to negative. I used to tell all my friends how cool it was to be a Blockbuster member, but I will now tell all my friends how bad they are, and should think twice before signing up.

  1. Here is something to watch…

If you keep your movies at home for a couple of days and then return them to Blockbuster, they usually process your queue quickly and ship your new movies the same day.

If you return your movies the day after you receive them, Blockbuster will not process them for several days and it will usually be two to three days before your queue gets updated.

As a network engineer and software developer, I’ve noticed these scenarios and the results are the same each time.

I have contacted Blockbuster several times by e-mail concerning this practice and I get generic replies back about not having enough available movies in my queue. Because I have over 300 movies in my queue, I find this hard to believe.

I totally agree. We are all getting totally hosed. The only way to fix them is to leave. Other users on other blogs have observed the same thing. Luckily Netflix is waiting for our business. Their shipping times haven’t been reduced.

Blockbuster is now about as slow as when Netflix throttles you. I return movies to the store on Wed the day after I get them…and it takes them until the following Monday or Tuesday to mail my next set. They used to process my DVD’s 7 days a week and now state they only ship M-F with limited shipments on Fridays. Blockbuster is failing and attempting to reduce costs to stay a float. I have been a member for about 3 years since I left Netflix. Now that I can watch movies on Netflix thru my XBOX as soon as I select them I’m thinking about giving them a try again. They can’t get much worse than BB.
