Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg explains some of the Facebook terms of service

27-Feb-09

Video of President Barack Obama’s swearing in, and inaugural address in full<=== More videos from my favorite news video source

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg explains some of the Facebook terms of service. He said that they “made a mistake in the last version”, and “issued some unclear language”. Mark said that “people own their own information”, and when a user removes their account “none of that information will be shared with anyone going forward”.

Notice how he did not say the information will be erased. I think Facebook got caught, and were forced to change the terms because of the intense public backlash. He appears to believable, but my recommendation is simple; if you assume that everything you put up on the internet will be permanent in some way (Google indexes everything anyway), and you are OK with that, than you will not be surprised in the future.

GM needs to go into bankruptcy, or send our money back

26-Feb-09

from TOM KRISHER and KIMBERLY S. JOHNSON, AP Auto Writers:
The company has received $13.4 billion in federal loans since Dec. 31 and says it needs up to $30 billion to stay out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Top GM executives were in Washington, D.C., Thursday to meet with the Obama administration’s auto task force to talk about restructuring and additional loans. Full article here

from Ken Bensinger, Los Angeles Times:
But even more troubling is the revelation that the century-old automaker essentially has become dependent on the U.S. government, unable to continue operations — even for a few months — without recurring cash infusions from taxpayers. Full article here

My opinion:
GM needs to lose the UAW (their biggest problem), and just go into BK. Stop asking for more of my money. If they can’t restructure with the help of bankruptcy protection, then just shut the doors now, and stop robbing the American people of our money. They are doing more damage to the rest of the car makers by staying in the game with unfair help. The other car makers could become more profitable with one less competitor in the picture. I work at a car dealership, so believe me, one less competitor would be much needed help.

Smart car / smart fortwo at Walmart in Murrieta

I walked by this car, and I had to do a double take because the car was almost exactly the same width as the shopping cart return of the Murrieta Walmart. I went to the car grabbed the camera, and now you can see for yourself. At some point I will drive one of these to see exactly how they feel, but let’s face it, you could probably take it right through the door of Walmart, and drive it up and down the aisles.

Are we sure this isn’t the second great depression?

tent cities

The top photo of a tent city is from 1938, the bottom was taken in 2009. Shocking isn’t it? I was watching TV today, and they were showing tent cities all over the country. My heart goes out to these people, and I hope I don’t end up in a similar situation.

I was completely unaware of these tent cities in our very own country. What the heck do we care about Africa now?

These are actually pretty good. They are even less than 300 calories each. They are one dollar each every day at Stater Bros.
